1. Define yourself and your job preciselyWhile creating the project, giving a precise description of the draft of your presentation to your

creative team is the most important part of the job. Because the design should reflect the content.

Being able to articulate the idea created in your imagination to your creative team with the right

words and in a simple way will speed up the process. Using definitions like ‘I want it to look

interesting’ is not good enough. Define what you have in mind more clearly. For example; everyone

imagines the purple fat elephant with your ‘purple huge elephant’ discourse. Concrete and simple

definitions help you articulate your idea easily. Rest assured, designers will bring it to a perfect

conclusion by combining your idea with their creativeness. But please don’t interfere with their

    imagination!

Let’s also take a look at the management part of the process. Let’s say you articulated your wishes

precisely but you are experiencing problems because of communication problems, incomplete

information transfer, unrealizable dreams or unsolvable attempts. In this case, the creative team

getting first-hand information from the person doing the presentation will prevent chaos. Keep in

mind that the designed presentation should ease the presenter into the task.

  2. Master the organization

Articulate your presentation’s target group info (sector, department etc.) to your design team. You

should also talk about your experience of what the key visuals and animation style this group can

easily understand is. If you give such a detailed forestatement, the creative design process will be

formed faster and the audience will not get bored and they will stay until the end of the

    presentation.

Moreover, make sure that the creative team designing your presentation communicates with the

organization firm carrying out this event. Because, the creative team as well must know the details of

the stage, the technological features of the screens, the size of the room etc. where the presentation

    will be done.

  3. Let the professionals handle thingsDuring the planning process of design the customers’ wishes are very important. Thanks to the

customers’ control over the job their comments might give the team a whole new direction at times.

However, over-interfering with the design leads to unprofessionalism. For example; you should trust

your doctor’s knowledge and experience and you shouldn’t question his/her capabilities when you

have a surgery. Likewise, you should trust your business partner and take his/her point of view into

consideration. Thus, value his/her experience and trust him/her.

  4. Never underestimate the jobWe do our best when there is an urgent situation, but the doer of a job knows the timing of that job

the best. Thus, cutting corners and copy-pasting will damage the life and quality of your job.

  5. Budget, time, perfect design triangleThis threesome is the critical problematic of both the customer and the creative agency doing the

design. There is a strong connection between the three. The minute you touch one, you disrupt the

balance of the other two. For example, you don’t have the budget and you don’t have the time but

you expect a perfect design solution. Nobody in this world can achieve that. A creative presentation

design needs a budget and a lot of time. Whoever tells you that they can come up with a good design

on a low budget is definitely lying.

  6. . Pay attention to design harmonyColor harmony plays an important role in design perfection. Try not to bring unnatural color

preferences together. Trust the professionals when it comes to colors, too. They have a good

command of warm, cool and contrasting colors as well. Don’t experiment your personal color likes on

a corporate presentation. The message you are trying to mediate should have the right and clear

colors to facilitate perception and form design integration as well.

The idea of design is being renewed as technology improves and is constantly generating new ways

of communication. Being open to new ideas and trying new design ideas in animation as well will add

value to you and your brand. Don’t be afraid to try novelty.

  7. Think like Steve Jobs “Keep it simple”

“Good design is as little design as possible.” says Dieter Rams, the creator of Braun. There is a

simplicity in successful brands that facilitates perception. The most important thing in design is to be

simple. A complicated design will make things difficult to perceive. World-class brands capture

people’s attention with the simplicity and purity of their designs. What matters is highlighting the

message you want to mediate and keeping the design simple. For example, if all the things except the

product itself are highlighted in an ad, then the ad is problematic. When designing don’t oversay

what you are trying to say. Keep it simple.

On the other hand, achieving simplicity is not always easy. Don’t be fooled by the ‘This is very simple.

I can do this, too’ feeling. Even Picasso worked for years to reach the perfection of a child’s

imagination and a simple but creative touch. Simplicity is power because ‘less’ is perceived more

easily and clearly by the audience.
